About Drone

Drone is a Danish progressive pop-rock band from the musical metropole Århus.

Since the debut album “Misanthropia” was released in 2007 the three members Rasmus Sjøgren, Morten Nygaard and Rasmus Cederlund developede the musical style from atmospheric and electronically inspired to a now more hard-hitting and ambitious expression á la King Crimson, Nine Inch Nails, Porcupine Tree, Tool, Nirvana and the early Genesis. You find this expressions most recent manifestation on the EP “Do What You Will” and the four tracks on the EP work as a forerunner for the forthcoming album “Doors of Perception” which is expected to be released in medio November 2010.

The songs on the album are written by leadsinger and guitarist Rasmus Sjøgren and arranged by all of drone throughout the last 30 months and since the summer of 2009 the band has used its energy on networking and concerts.

In the spring of 2010 the band was chosen to be among the 22 bands in DR´s “KarriereKanonen”. It let to great shows on some of the big stages in Denmark and airplay on P3 with the song “Intuition”. The journalists of P3 had this among other things to say about drone:
